Common AIM errors for Windows are “you cannot add another buddy to your buddy list”. This means that you are trying to exceed the allowed 150 buddy limit . Another AIM error in relation to Windows may be, “The same screen name appears more than once in a group. Please correct or delete the highlighted item.” User is attempting to add a buddy who is already in his buddy list. User should select “delete” in order to remove one of the copies of the buddies name from that group. “The screen name is too short or contains invalid characters and cannot be added.” is another common AIM error alert message. Screen names have to be a minimum of  two characters in length. They have to be composed only of numbers, letters and spaces.  In addition, they have to start using  a letter.
