You can check with their website and see if their any updates available for the version that you have. Make sure you do not download these updates from any other site otherwise; you can be adding further problems as it will not be compatible with the original program.

Next, try to update your Windows. This will improve both your Windows performance and compatibility with various programs. If you need help locating, the service packs that work best for you contact Microsoft and they will be able to assist. If you happen to install your update after an automatic update, you will need to go in and manually reinstall these updates.  If this still does not fix your problem, try the next step.

Another step that you can is to try to recreate your Photoshop preference file. The information in this preference includes such things such as plug-ins, features and even the application. When you recreate the preferences file you can you might be able to resolve a damaged file. This should fix the problem.
