Thunderbird Errors

Thunderbird is a cross platform mail client tailored to be equal to big name mail clients already proven in the public.  Thunderbird is open sourced so it is free to anyone to download and use.  As an open source product, Thunderbird is translated into several languages and available widespread upon the globe.  In quick research of Thunderbird, there is a lot of commentary praising the mail client for its discrete positioning and wide spread use due to open source status.  There do appear postings of some fairly problematic Thunderbird errors and just a bit more than sophisticated resolutions.

One posting lists both a problem with the system refusing to open because error messaging indicates that there is already an occurrence open and another error is one where the application appeared to put the user computer into a loop of attempted upgrade without any progress.  Resolution of these two Thunderbird errors was as easy as finding and deleting a specific file named parent.lock and in the later case removing software for a Logitech webcam.  The webcam problem seems significant as Logitech is so widespread in worldwide markets and also because distinct of the two Thunderbird errors this one seems to reinitiate itself when upgrading Thunderbird.  One certainly does not want to remove and reinstall non-collateral software every time an upgrade is done to another.  Solutions to both these errors were stated to have been found in basic cut and paste searches on the internet, so neither seems drastic.

There are several commonly reported Thunderbird errors surrounding the in box features and gathering emails.  In one case a user reported getting timed out near five-thousand emails downloaded and that just didn’t send alarms on this writer’s alarm panel (located in a much lesser demanding mind).  A solution was suggested wherein Thunderbird allows for headers to be downloaded rather than the entire mail; thus saving valuable process time and space.  More daunting is the reference to an error in truncating to the inbox wherein a requirement to delete the inbox.msf is stated.  Not only did the user report that the fix did not work (though it was stated to work for others) but a warning was made not to delete the inbox.  Pictures of unread emails disappearing with an accidental wrong deletion overwhelm this mind.  From deleting all filters, although they were needed due to dozens of editorial sources, to oblivion the solution to this readers problem did not appear.  Unlike thousands of emails causing Thunderbird errors this problem seemed likely to happen to a common user.

A second problem for the same user prompting a lack of permission to write to his in box lead to a dual solution for both the second problem and the first.  It was encouraging that a fix was ultimately posted for both problems and that it was a simple problem of elevated security settings in a protective software application.

There exists another Thunderbird errors posting that lists a substantial conflict between Thunderbird and another major open source mail client and this writer is still processing the remedy to understand.  Thunderbird seems a bit vulnerable to high volume traffic and seems to conflict with multiple programs but in balance to its widespread open source use, it is living out a prosperous population into the user field.  The fixes seem more technical than common issues; yet, they are found in basic internet searches and the ability to find a result seems to be a suitable standard as no mail client has presented itself above errors.  There are few to no widespread claims of security problems with Thunderbird and the virus exploitation is hidden if existent so Thunderbird presents as a great email client.
