Fix Annoying Program Errors Once & For All!

Windows Update Errors

As everyone knows, Windows Vista is the newest program from Microsoft. There have been many issues with this program but the most common one that people are finding are the dreaded Windows Update Errors. These little monsters can make the calmest of people become frustrated. Here is a little more information on this common problem.

There are usually two types of Windows Update errors that appear most often. Your error could be the result of a corrupted Software Distribution File or it could be caused by corrupted Registry files. There are some simple ways to fix these if you know what you are doing.

Start by renaming your Software Distribution File. You begin this step by first of all shutting down your Windows automatic updates. This is very important. You can perform this by going to your start menu, then clicking on control panel, next you are going to click on performance and maintenance, and then administrative tools, next click on services, then click on the automatic updates tab. Once you are, there you will need to click on the General tab. Under this tab, you will see stop automatic updates. You will need to click on this.

Now you have shut off your automatic updates now what right? Well let us go on. Now you will want to go to your C Drive by clicking on My Computer and then C-Drive. Here you will want to locate the folder named Software Distribution. Once you have located this file you will want to rename it to another name. After you completed this step, you will need to follow the above steps to turn your Automatic Updates Back on. This should fix your problem. If not you will have to try another step.

If the problem was not fixed with the above suggestion, you will need to proceed to the next step.

With this step, you will need to download as well as install a compatible and reliable Windows Vista Registry Cleaner. After you have completed installing the program, you will need to let it run. As it is running, it will locate errors that it finds on your computer. Do not be scared if you see tons of errors, the registry cleaner finds every little problem. Once it has finished scanning which can be from a few minutes to a few hours click on automatically repair errors.  On most of the Registry Cleaners, there will be a step-by-step wizard that will walk you through getting these errors repaired. After this has finished your problem should be fixed. If not, there is one more thing that you will be able to try.

The final solution that you may be able to try and fix your Windows Update Errors will take a little time. This step requires you to locate the Update files that came up with an error and then reinstall them. You can do this by going to the start menu, control panel, automatic updates, and update history. You will need to click on each one of these individually and reinstall.

After you have tried all three solutions this should solve your problem. You need to be sure that you turned your Automatic Updates back on from the first step, if not you will need to do this now. If you continue to have a problem, you can contact Microsoft and see if they have a repair available for the Software Registry. Otherwise, you will need to probably take your computer to your local repair shop and tell them the problem you are having and what you have done so far.
